Ok guys... We are trying to set up the 2nd Annual Bronco Mojave Road trip for Halloween weekend. Using last year as an example, we would stay at the Avi casino in Laughlin on Friday night and leave early Saturday morning and finish up Monday afternoon. This will give 3 days to travel across the 100+ miles of the trails and see the sights. One night camping in a campground and one night out on the trail. The trail is fun and historic, dating back to the indian trading days and early western settlers. It is a stocker friendly trail and we are trying to get a few more folks than last year. Last year we had a great time and had 3 RBV's an F250 and 3 Jeeps. Come on folks...the desert has cool temps at that time of year and its a real blast! Who's interested??

Shay, I'd love to do this one again for sure. But I think I'm about out of leave for the year - after Turkey Day and Xmas. I'd have to take off 3-4 days minimum to do it. I don't think I have it but I'll see if there is a way. It would be awesome to make this an annual trek!

Any chance we could move it up or back a week?  I get every other Friday off and Halloween Friday is my day to work. It makes me a day short for the minimum amount of time to do this, provided nothing goes wrong!  The previous Friday, 10/23 is a full moon. The week after Halloween will be a new moon and totally dark. It was awesome last year having that big, bright moon hanging up there all night. We did not need a light for anything after "dark!"  Doing it on a weekend when I have Friday off makes or breaks it for me. Fri would be a day of travel, 3 days minimum on the trail, then hope to head home Tue or even Wed. It would be cool to take another day and spend more time to see Mitchell Caverns or some of the cool volcanic stuff we missed last time.

Even if we switch it I'm not 100%, maybe 75%. But it'll give me a goal to complete some minor work and have that to look forward to.

Also Shay, not that I'm predicting any problems, but if I break something, I may need shuttle service to the Avi to get my tow rig. I know I won't have time to drop it at your place like last year. I'll have to drive Clyde back to Laughlin this time.

With our schedule and a couple others going, the 31st weekend works best. I would still hope you could make it!

As for the shuttle if something happens...Im sure we can come up with something.

Without a full moon, we will get better critters roaming around like Snipe, Chupacabras and the illusive and dangerous Wild Pastrami!

That might put me out of the running but I'll see what I can do. I'd sure hate to miss it!!

The snipe hunt last year was too funny!  I'm glad we didn't run across any of the chupacabras. That means "goat sucker" in Spanish. They look fierce!!

It's a great trip for sure and the best time to run it. Unfortunately, I think I'm out for this one. Next year I'll save some leave and take the whole week off like I did last year. See you then Jim!!

Pretty simple...
As for your vehicle, bring a good spare, tools, spare fluids, belts and hoses just in case and extra fuel, again just in case. Its a very easy trail and alot of fun...I did it in 2wd last year.

Groceries...Saturday you will need lunch and dinner, Sunday all 3 meals and Monday breakfast and lunch.
Saturday morning before we leave we normally eat at the hotel. There is a gas station at the hotel to top off fuel the night before and get ice.

Typical camping gear...tent, firewood, sleeping bag etc.

Family group...bring your girlfriend, kids, dog whatever!

That would be great if you could come!
