A lot easier if you do the DuraSpark conversion...then it should be pretty simple.
Do you have the whole truck the 2.8 is coming out of?

whoever it was is a crack-smoker.......2.8, 2.9, and 4.0 all share the same bellhousing. on that note something to consider on this swap would be the 4.0 clutch

yes i did mis-read that, my bad i just saw "1988" and missed the "4-cyl" part seeing as how this is a bII forum and all and the bII only had a 2.9. sorry. but what i posted still stands true: 2.8, 2.9, and 4.0 share bellhousings. the 2.3
is different
.
oh and btw his sig even has a bII in it. i guess i saw that and totally didn't even read his one line post

hey billy, dont you still have that tk5?
does anyone know if the tk4/5 bellhousing will mate a 2.8 to his trans?
heck, if anyone knows how to fix a stripped starter bolt hole (and not chew up the starter and flywheel), i have an extra TK bellhousing
is this ranger you are talking about 2wd?

I have both engines . . going from a 2.3 to a 2.8 is going backwards.
